Director of Plant Operations

The Director of Plant Operations is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling the overall operation of the physical plant of the community to include preventative and corrective maintenance of buildings and equipment, landscape and grounds maintenance, environmental services, commercial laundry services, and the community safety program. Assists in the budget development and procurement of capital items for the entire campus.  Develops and implements annual departmental budgets and ensures budget compliance throughout the fiscal year for the operating, capital and staffing budgets.  Manages, supervises and directs employees and coaches and evaluates employee performance. May also take an active role in the development of our expansion program as well as the development of additional locations as our organization grows.  

Preferred candidate will have:

  • Five plus years’ successful leadership, operational, and management experience in a medium to large healthcare or continuing care community.
  • Will possess knowledge of building codes and safety regulations, state healthcare licensing and federal certification regulations, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints. 
  • Must be knowledgeable of HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, compressors, generators, elevators, as well as a wide and varied array of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Will possess a college degree in a related field. An applicable advanced degree will also be rewarded with additional compensation.
